On July 9, 2025, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), through the Decent Work Unit and the General Directorate of Federal Labor Inspection, formally presented the 2025 Federal Labor Inspection Program.
With the objective of strengthening the promotion and supervision of fair, equitable, and respectful working conditions, STPS plans to conduct 43,000 inspections in 2025, representing a 34% increase compared to the previous year.
Technological Innovation: SIDIL
For the first time in history, STPS will implement the Intelligent Data System for Labor Inspection (SIDIL), an artificial intelligence–based tool that will allow for improved planning, scheduling, and execution of inspections.
Additionally, the Federal Labor Inspection will coordinate with various Mexican government authorities, highlighting the signing of cooperation agreements with the General Directorate of Mines of the Ministry of Economy; the Secretariat of the Navy; and the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), in order to carry out joint actions that strengthen verification processes.
What Are STPS Inspections?
