First stage of mandatory use of the Crossing Notice (AVC)

Last Friday, the National Customs Agency of Mexico issued information regarding the first stage of the mandatory implementation of the Crossing Notice (AVC) at various customs offices across the country.

Once this measure enters into force, the AVC will be the document required to activate the Automated Selection Mechanism for applicable operations, replacing the Customs Clearance Operation Document (DODA).

The mandatory use of the AVC will begin in a first stage at 21 customs offices; however, the definitive effective date remains pending official confirmation by ANAM. Once its use becomes mandatory, the DODA may no longer be used for operations covered by this stage. For the time being, however, the AVC will not apply to consolidated pedimentos and their respective shipments, transit operations, virtual pedimentos, or other scenarios that have not yet been enabled.
