Renata Aguilar is an International Tax Partner at JA Del Río, where she advises multinational clients on the application of double tax treaties, cross-border transactions, and international frameworks such as the OECD’s BEPS Actions and Pillar Two. Her practice focuses on complex tax compliance and advisory matters involving multinational operations.
Renata began her career at a Big Four firm, where she gained extensive experience in corporate and international taxation, advising clients in the maquiladora, automotive, and retail industries. She later joined JA Del Río, where she was appointed to open and lead the firm’s fifth office in Tijuana, strengthening its presence in the border region and expanding its reach within the manufacturing sector.
Throughout her career, Renata has been recognized for her results-driven and people-centered leadership style, emphasizing technical excellence and the continuous development of high-performing teams. She currently serves as Lead Tax Partner for the Mexico City and León offices, and regularly conducts technical training, leads client webinars, and contributes to JA Del Río’s International Tax Committee, helping define firmwide standards and policies.
Renata also serves as Secretary of the Tax Commission of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico and is an active member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). She has been invited to speak at prominent industry events, including the Praxity North American International Tax Conference (New Orleans, Austin, Orlando) and the Praxity Global Tax Conference in Madrid.
She holds a Master’s in Tax Law and Tax Administration (with honors) and a Specialization in Taxation from Universidad Anáhuac, as well as diplomas from Universidad Panamericana in Taxation and in the Legal, Corporate, and Accounting Aspects of Anti-Money Laundering.
