Biography

Luis is an Accountant graduated from the Universidad de Monterrey and has a master’s degree in Tax Law from the Universidad Regiomontana. He has more than 8 years of experience in tax practice. During his career as a tax advisor, he has assisted both national and multinational groups from different economic sectors.

Luis has experience in leading and coordinating teams with participation in projects related to different market industries such as manufacturing, retail sales, transport and distribution, digital services, industrial, and non-profit entities.

He has served as team leader and principal responsible for the planning, execution and coordination of deliverables with both local and global clients. Has extensive experience in tax law, with a focus on compliance and advisory on CIT, VAT matters, as well as handling audits related to such taxes before the tax authorities.

Has experience reviewing and designing structures applied for investment in Mexico for local and multinational companies, with special focus in identify, analyze and address potential tax risks in accordance with the best practices that these companies often face due to the complex legal and tax regime in Mexico.

Also, Luis has experience in the application of treaties to avoid double taxation, reorganization processes, due diligence and coordination of multidisciplinary projects. He has solid accounting knowledge, extensive knowledge of tax compliance processes regarding direct and indirect taxes.
